The initiative is part of the GVF's 'Volleyball for All' program, which aims to foster development in emerging markets through funding, coaching support, and infrastructure development. 'Our goal is to make volleyball one of the most accessible and widely played sports in the world,' said the GVF President. 'By welcoming these new members, we are not just growing our federation; we are strengthening the global volleyball family.'
The new member nations span six continents, with significant representation from Africa and Asia where volleyball is experiencing rapid growth. Each new member will receive a comprehensive development package including equipment donations, coaching certification programs, and technical support for establishing national leagues.
This expansion brings the total number of registered volleyball players worldwide to over 800 million, making it one of the most participated sports globally. The GVF projects that with this growth, volleyball will be played competitively in every country by 2030.
